The Rotary Futures Program is a liaison between VHS and Friendship Volunteer Center and handles all community service registration for VHS students. Community service is not a graduation requirement, but a 75-hour district approved community service plan is a requirement for the Florida Academic Scholars level of Bright Futures.
All community service plans MUST be approved by an RFP staff member or by Friendship Volunteer Center PRIOR to beginning any volunteer service. NOTE - Students MUST know where they are going to volunteer to register, and they must get a parent/guardian signature on the registration papers.
Community service must be with a NON-PROFIT organization. NO EXCEPTIONS TO THE NON-PROFIT RULE!
Volunteers are available during hours of operation to assist students. Students may register for community service the summer before their freshman year. Call the Rotary Futures Program the end of May for summer hours.
